Hello Dale, welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with this great question!
Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen is currently only available on a walk-in basis, which is in keeping with the mission of the canteen to serve all jungle explorers. Furthermore, the crews there claim that radio reception is weak, (being in the jungle of course), so making a dining reservation is next to impossible. Having experienced the dining there myself, it was intriguing walking up and asking for availability and being looked after in decent time. I can't say for certain
if, or when Advance Dining Reservations will be offered or not, but the best official source to keep a close eye on would be the
Disney Parks Blog for accurate updates and information.
In the meantime, I believe you'll be pleased with the walk-in wait time, the details in the decor- those Disney Imagineers don't miss a beat with significance and storytelling, and the hearty food selections which are the same for lunch and dinner!
Tips: Have a browse through all three dining room areas and have a careful look at the
crew's bulletin board I'm certain you'll be captivated.
The Schweitzer Slush in the Souvenir mug tastes great and you can keep the mug for a fee, just let your Cast Member know and they'll help you out.
Skip's Mac and Cheese with Spiced Ground Beef was incredibly delicious, just be sure to leave room for dessert...that
Kungaloosh Dessert is out of this jungle!
I hope this information helps you out Dale and we look forward to assisting you in the near future. Thank you for your question.
Wishing you grand adventures!
