we are coming to Disney for 2 weeks in May with our little girl age 6 and have no idea where to start re planning and timings, I tried to book the character dining with mickey ( I purchased the mid dining package ) but it is asking for a cred card why?

Hello Janet and thanks for asking me such an important question about your upcoming magical May holiday to Walt Disney World Resort.
It sounds to me like you've already made some great choices by including the Disney Dining Plan to your Walt Disney World Resort booking! It has to be said that my family just loves to eat well on our Disney holidays, therefore we almost always utilise one of the great value for money Disney Dining Plans.
Simply put, a credit card is only used to secure an Advanced Dining Reservation and will not be charged if a Guest takes up their dining reservation; to help further you may find this Dining Reservations - Frequently Asked Questions link to be useful.
Your own darling little Princess is sure to love dining with the Big Cheese himself at Chef Mickey's; it's an eternal favourite with all Mouseketeer's everywhere!
If you have any further enquires about your much anticipated May holiday to Walt Disney World Resort please feel free to pop back to ask me another question here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
    Have a great Disney day.
