Coming to the Disney wedding pavilion open house, what should I expect or prepare?

Hi there Lisa, and welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you stopped by with your question. It sounds like you're beginning a truly enchanting journey toward planning a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding, and I couldn't be more excited for you. As a past Disney bride who said “I do” at the stunning Wedding Pavilion, I’m thrilled to share a bit of my experience and help guide you through what to expect during your visit.

Attending a Disney Wedding Pavilion Open House is a truly special opportunity to explore what your dream wedding could look like. I had my own magical fairytale wedding in 2021, with our ceremony held at the beautiful Wedding Pavilion, and I can honestly say that visiting the Pavilion beforehand helped tremendously. Seeing it in person was a completely different experience, photos just don’t do it justice. Walking through the space and standing at the altar with a view of Cinderella Castle through the arched windows gave me a sense of clarity and excitement that no brochure or online gallery could match.

At the open house, you can expect to tour the Wedding Pavilion and often other nearby venues, such as the ballrooms at Disney’s Grand Floridian or Luau Beach. The Disney Weddings team is usually available to answer questions, offer planning insight, and help you understand the many options available. There are often sample displays showcasing floral arrangements, table settings, stationery, and sometimes even cake or menu samples.

The event is casual yet informative, and dressing in comfortable but polished attire is ideal. You’ll likely be walking around a bit, so comfortable shoes are a good choice. Bringing your fiancée, a parent, or a member of your planning team can be really helpful, especially if you're trying to narrow down your vision.

Before you go, it’s important to RSVP, as spots are typically limited. Taking some time to review Disney wedding packages and venue options beforehand will allow you to ask more focused questions. It’s also smart to prepare a list of things you’re curious about, such as guest capacity, weather plans, vendor policies, transportation logistics, or any special enhancements like park photo sessions or fireworks add ons.

The Wedding Pavilion is located at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, so if you’re staying at a Disney resort, transportation by monorail, boat, or bus is readily available.

Ultimately, the open house isn’t just a tour, it’s a chance to see the magic in motion. My visit gave me the clarity I needed to move forward with confidence, and it made the anticipation of my wedding even more exciting. If you're considering a Disney wedding, especially at the Pavilion, this experience will absolutely help you envision your fairytale day.

I hope your visit to the Wedding Pavilion is everything you’re dreaming it will be! It’s such a special place, and seeing it in person makes all the difference. If you have any questions at all as you start planning, don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly. I’d be so happy to help however I can. Wishing you all the magic and joy as you begin this exciting journey!
