We are coming to Disney for our 20th wedding anniversary in Sept. Any ideas to help us get chosen for a float in the parade to celebrate? Or any other special things we could do? We are taking a solo trip so will be just the 2 of us.

    Hi, Rhonda!

I bet you and your spouse are looking forward to visiting the Walt Disney World Resort this fall. There’s no better place to spend an anniversary than The Most Magical Place on Earth!

Disney Floral & Gifts can help you celebrate by arranging for special Disney gifts and surprises to be delivered directly to your room at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. There are many gift baskets and bouquets to choose from that can be customized to your special occasion. They create and arrange for delivery of the gift, along with a card and message from you if you want to surprise your loved one. Call the Dream Makers at (407) WDW-GIFT (939-4438) for more information.

From what I’ve heard, being selected as a parade’s Grand Marshal is quite random, and you never can tell when you might receive some extra pixie dust. Although there are no guarantees, arriving early and being present for the rope drop ceremony might help…you may just catch a Cast Member’s eye!

Be sure to pick up a complimentary anniversary button for each of you when you visit the theme parks. Also, if you have any table-service meals planned, don’t forget to tell your server you’re celebrating a special occasion. To order a custom cake to enjoy after your meal, call (407) 827-2253. A fireworks cruise to watch Wishes nighttime spectacular would also be a magical way to end one of your days.

For a fun night out away from the theme parks, visit the BoardWalk area. Flying Fish Cafe would be a great spot for dinner and cocktails before heading to Jellyrolls to enjoy the dueling piano bar atmosphere. There are also entertainers along the way, and you can see the Epcot fireworks without going into the park.

I hope this helps, Rhonda, and that you have a wonderfully pixie-dusted visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!

    Wishing you magic,
