We are coming to Disney tomorrow and this is the first itme I have heard about Disney Dollars! What are they, I know where to find them from previous questions but how do they work.

Hi Sally! Although I realize this is too late to help you with your trip hopefully others will gain some information about the wonderful Disney Dollars!

My family has used them for years and we can't take a vacation without them. You can pick them up at any Guest Service desk and the resort front desks and concierges.  You can use them for anything throughout Walt Disney World as they act just the same as cash. Pay for your dining, recreation, or souvenirs at any Disney store location whether it is a kiosk, resorts, or a big location in Downtown Disney.

We use them for games at meals and incentives for the kids.  Because Disney is full of timed events such as dining reservations and shows we often use them as rewards for kids who can get ready up with the alarm, get dressed, or in general get ready on time to depart.  They earn their spending money and especially enjoy the shopping on the last day! Our meal game is simply called the Disney Dollar game. Everyone gets an envelope with a dollar in it but one actually has a five and another a ten.  They randomly select their envelope and hope they are lucky!

My children started this game when they were very young....two and four.  They are now 31 and 29 with grandchildren of their own and they still insist we play our Disney Dollar games!
