We are coming to disney for the 1st time with our 4 & 7 yr old girls in July. I am overwhelmed with dining choices. Can you give some advice on where to go and if breakfast vs lunch/dinner is preferred? We will be staying at the contemporary for 7 d

    Hi Gary!

This sounds like an awesome vacation ... 7 days at Disney's Contemporary Resort, wow! Please don't feel overwhelmed. We can help you plan each step of your trip. In terms of dining, you'll want to consider your family's travel patterns and whether sitting at a restaurant each day is something you prefer. For our family, we love booking a dinner each night. We typically rise early to hit the parks at opening, head back to the resort after lunch for a swim/nap, then dine out at a table service restaurant and enjoy the evening hours in a park. This pattern works well for us and has for several years (when our children were also 4 and 6). If you do decide to book dining, I would consider the excellent options right around you. The monorail will make travel a breeze. Here are my top choices based on your location:

Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort

    'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Resort

Kona Café at Disney's Polynesian Resort

1900 Park Fare at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Whispering Canyon Café at Disney's Wilderness Lodge (take a boat to get there!)

I also suggest checking out the independent site allears.net. The site lists out each dining option by location, including the current menus. Once you've thought about a few options that works for your family, head over to the Disneyworld.com dining page to book your reservations.
