Hi we will be coming to DIsney in Sept with my 1 1/2 year old daughter, we are staying at The Villas Wilderness Lodge, I booked a Studio but after reading some comments i'm wondering I made the right decision? Or should I change this and stay in the hotel?

    Hi Lori,

My family stays frequently at the Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge (VWL).  It is just steps away from the main lodge and feels very much to be part of the same resort complex.  I wish I could have heard more about the specific concerns you have about VWL so that I could address them more effectively, but I can say in all sincerity that I doubt you have made a mistake by booking here.  The biggest differences between the deluxe studios at VWL and the rooms in the main lodge are as follows:

    1.  The main hotel has rooms with either two queen beds or a queen with two bunk beds.  Meanwhile the deluxe studios at VWL have a traditional queen bed and a full bed that is a pull-out.  These are not your ordinary pull-out beds.  I've slept on them many times and they are very comfortable.  Plus, during the day they fold back into a couch so that the room seems even larger.

    2.  The feel in the main lodge is a bit more boisterous.  At VWL, the ambience is gorgeous but more sedate, which I appreciate at the end of a busy day in the parks.

    3.  Rooms in the main lodge are closer to the resort restaurants and boat dock.

    4.  Rooms in the villas section are closer to bus transportation.

Overall, I would say these rooms are highly comparable and would make your decision based on price.  Pick the one that offers your family the best deal.

Wishing you a magical stay at my favorite resort in the whole world!
