Hi Hannah,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. My family loved our stay at Disney’s Old Key West Resort. The charm and relaxing vibe of the Florida Keys is beautifully captured in the theming, and we loved being surrounded by palm trees and pastels.
I think your plan for an arrival day dinner at
T-REX is fabulous! We love to kick off our trips with a special meal or experience, and T-REX provides both! The great news is that Disney’s Old Key West Resort is very close to Disney Springs. You’ll be able to catch a Walt Disney World bus to Disney Springs right from your resort; the Cast Members at the front desk can provide you with details about bus timing and which stops work best based on your room location. Another fun idea is to arrive in Disney style by taking a Minnie Van! While Minnie Vans won’t be your most affordable option, it might be a fun magical splurge to kick off your vacation – they are really fun to ride in. If you’re interested in Minnie Van service, check in with your resort staff, who can help you set up the service via the Lyft app.
Hannah, I must let you in on my favorite thing about staying at Disney’s Old Key West Resort:
Olivia’s Café. This restaurant is a hidden gem! It’s generally not hard to get reservations, and my family eats there every visit because their food is scrumptious. Whether you’re having banana bread French toast with coconut cream for breakfast or the incredible buttermilk fried chicken with scrumptious Olivia’s potatoes for dinner, you can’t go wrong at Olivia’s Café!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
