We are coming to Disney Sept. 2017. We will be on the Disney dining plan. In the policy for reservations it states that if you go to a buffet meal it only counts as one meal and not all you can eat, does that mean we can't refill our plates ?

    Hi Gladys,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so glad to hear that you have decided to use the Disney Dining Plan and am happy to answer this question for you!

When we have dined at buffet meals while using a dining plan, we have always been able to make several trips back to the buffet to refill our plates. The food is delicious and we all have our favorites. Buffet restaurants are often quite busy, however, and they have to be sure that every guest with a reservation is served so you will not have an unlimited amount of time to sit at the restaurant.

At our buffet meals, we typically take about an hour and a half to dine. Then we are up and headed back to the parks or the pool. Sometimes, we have stayed long enough at Character Meals to see the characters start making another round through the restaurant. That is usually our cue to prepare to leave!

Gladys, I do hope you have made Dining Reservations as restaurants fill quickly. My family has started searching for special dining experiences that will make our vacation even more magical. I suggest you take a look at the Enchanted Extras - Adventures in Dining. We are considering the Dine with an Animal Specialist experience because our girls absolutely love the animals at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
