Hi, we're coming to Disney Sept. 10 -17, 2011 for my daughter's 7th Birthday! It's both her and my husband's first time down at WDW. I have a few questions. How much should we bring for spending money? What is the weather like?

    Hi Stacey!
I think it's great that you are going to be able to experience the wonder fo Disney for the first time through not only your child, but your husband as well. How cool!
The weather in September can still be pretty hot and humid. Average temps during the day are still in or around 90+ and it can still be quite sticky. Sunscreen and lots of water and some strategic indoor attractions make everything more comfortable (plus maybe some midday swims at your resort).
As for money, I'm not sure what your family policy is on souvenirs, and you don't mention if you have a meal plan or not. For souvenirs, our kids get $20-$25 per day. If there is something bigger that they want, then they have to save up for the bigger item (a day, 2 days, etc.). Then there is the occasional popcorn, ice cream, bottled water or other treats during the day. This can be anywhere from $6-$15 additional per person/ per day. Not counting meals, I would budget at least $100 per day for souvenirs and treats for a family of four, adjusting accordingly if your family is bigger or smaller. Also, it should be said that some "Moms" would think my amount is too small and others may think it too big, but it is what my family does on average.
No matter what, you are going to have an amazing time. I wish you all a Magical trip!! :)
