We are coming to Disney with a performing school group in February 2023. They have offered us dining options of certificates or dollar for dollar dining cards. Can the dollar for dollar dining cards be used for any restaurant? Counter, character dining etc

Hiya Mike - welcome to planDisney!

It's great to hEAR that you'll be visiting with a performance group - it's such a magically unique experience for the performers and their families! Mike, when booking with a large group you may be offered specially tailored options that aren't available to everyday Guests. For this reason, I recommend also directing your question to whoever is helping your group arrange your Walt Disney World travel package.

I will say that in many cases, you'd be provided with a Disney Dining Card pre-loaded with a specific dollar amount. In my experience, these have been valid for redemption at almost any food location, but your cards may be different. The only place I think I ran into a snag was any dining experience that required full pre-payment, such as Cinderella's Royal Table at Magic Kingdom Park. That being said, Mike, please know that there could be any number of restrictions or terms and conditions attached to a dining card. For example, the cards can be limited to Quick-Service locations only.

For that reason, I definitely recommend checking and getting an official answer from either the Cast Member who is facilitating the planning of your trip, or a Cast Member in the Theme Parks once you arrive.

If you end up at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, be sure to check out Satu'li Canteen at Pandora - The World of Avatar. They have some great new menu items to celebrate the release of Avatar: The Way of Water!
