We are coming to Disney on Nov.18-23..we will spend Thanksgiving Day @resort. Was wondering if the days leading up to it are extremely busy--if so is it going to be like after Christmas Day busy? thanks! Also, was thinking of eating TD meal @ FortWild.?

Hi Courtney!  I love Thanksgiving time at Walt Disney World! My own family would always come that week for a family reunion as it meant the kids would miss as little school as possible.

Because it is a holiday week you will find the crowds picking up but generally the parks are not too bad up until Thanksgiving Day. On that day you with either find parks normal or crowded and it is hard to judge from year to year as the local population has a lot to do with it. Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving will indeed be the most crowded days and then starting Sunday they will thin out as travelers head home again.  Although it will be busy I have never felt like I could compare it to the Christmas holidays. I feel it is still one of the better holiday weeks to visit as Christmas will be very crowded in all parks.

Many of the restaurants will have special meals or buffets for Thanksgiving. Trails End at Fort Wilderness already has a great buffet for breakfast and dinner with barbecue and chicken and all the trimmings.  For lunch they generally have a menu selection.  One of our favorite places for Thanksgiving dinners has been Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge. We have also enjoyed a great holiday dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse with turkey and all the trimmings. These are just other options for you to consider!
