Welcome to planDisney, Stephanie! Thanks so much for coming to us with your question today. Ringing in the new year at Walt Disney World Resort is a dream come true and a magical way to start 2024 with a bang. Since these are very popular days at the Theme Parks, it's a great idea to start planning how you're going to manage your time and I'm happy to share the most important parts with you.
Stephanie, if you have a
Disney Park Pass reservation for a Theme Park and it hits capacity after you've left for a brief period, you are
not guaranteed re-entry. You can exit and re-enter at your leisure as long as the Theme Park has not hit that capacity limit, but your reservation will not gain you re-admittance if the Park filled up while you were away.
With that in mind, the best course of action would be to plan as if
Magic Kingdom Park and
EPCOT will hit capacity when park hopping begins at 2:00 PM, which is probably the most likely scenario for these two days. I believe the best options would be to start your day early with rope drop as you have planned but be prepared to leave the Park for your break and be back by 2:00 PM before Park Hopping starts, or you can start your day later and stay all the way through the end of the night without leaving for a break. It might not be how you'd plan a regular day at Walt Disney World Resort, but this isn't just any regular day! A bit of extra magic requires a bit of extra planning, and no matter which option you choose, I know you're going to have a New Year's Eve to remember.
Have a magical day, Stephanie!
