All of the Disney resorts will be well prepared to make it a magical trip for a 4 and a 5 year old! There are three groupings for the Disney resorts and it is based on cost. You have the value resorts, the moderate resorts, and then the deluxe resorts. The deluxe will be the most expensive but they also offer the most amenities and their locations are the best in relation to the parks. Usually your transportation times between resort and parks is less at these locations.
You can compare and read the descriptions for each resort by clicking

I will share my favorite resort in each category.
Value: Pop Century
This resort can tend to have less groups and more families and is still a fun place for the children.
Moderate: Port Orleans
This is a beautiful resort located close to Downtown Disney with boat access to this Disney spot. Coronado Springs has just had a room refurbishment with all rooms having queen beds versus the doubles you find in the other moderate resorts. This might make this location more pleasing. Caribbean Beach is very popular with families with the beach and pools. I also have a place in my heart for the Fort Wilderness cabins. It is peaceful and quiet and the experiences you can enjoy at Fort Wilderness are one of Disney's secrets to a magical holiday.
I don't think you can go wrong with any of the moderate resorts and it would be more about your personal needs.
Deluxe: Polynesian
Families love this deluxe location for its ambiance and pool. It is just a few minutes from the Magic Kingdom which is the park of choice for families with small children. It is nice to be able to go back and forth from this park with ease using the monorails or the boat launches.
Every Disney resort will offer the magic for your vacation! It comes down to budget and theme and location!
