Jason:
I like to tell folks that no matter what you're celebrating or when you're celebrating if
YOU are celebrating, Disney wants to celebrate with you.
My first tip is to make sure that Disney
knows you're celebrating. Disney can provide a lot of magic but it can't read minds. Whether it's an anniversary, a birthday, or celebrating a milestone, make sure that your wife's birthday is noted on your reservations, both your dining reservations and your room reservations. Secondly, make sure that you ask for a birthday button when you check-in at your resort or at Guest Services inside the parks. Lastly, make sure and
wear the button in a visible location every where. (Disney cast members also can't see through backpacks or purses...)
There aren't any guarantees or specifics on what pixie dust may come your way for a birthday: you may get a special cupcake at dinner, a front-row seat at a show or a shout out from an entertainer but honestly, my day was made once when cast member simply saw my name and said, "Happy Anniversary, Whitney."
If you're willing to pay, the birthday fun can be endless. From renting a boat for one of Disney's
fireworks cruises to making a dining reservation for a
Signature Restaurant, your choices abound. And if you're wanting lots of suggestions, consider visiting one of my favorite sites:
Disney's Custom Celebrations. From birthday cakes to In-Room Celebrations, there's something to make your trip memorable for every budget.
Wishing y'all a magical vacation and memorable birthday!
Whitney
