We are coming to Disney March 8th,2012. Mother, Son and 6 year old granddaughter. Should we purchase meals before time and if so do they allow you to book a time or not wait in line.

    Hi Beverly,

If you are staying at a Disney-owned resort and purchasing your theme park tickets as part of a vacation package, you are eligible to purchase a Disney Dining Plan.  I am a huge advocate of the Disney Dining Plan.  My family purchases a dining plan at Disney as often as we are eligible.  These plans will easily save you 20% off of your meals at Walt Disney World, perhaps more since you are traveling with a child under ten.  You must add the Disney Dining Plan to your vacation package at least 48 hours before your arrival.  I suggest you add it to your reservation immediately.  The Disney Dining Plan cannot be added to your reservation when you check in to your resort.  It must be done in advance.

Whether you decide to purchase a Disney Dining Plan or not, I encourage you to call (407) WDW-DINE today to book meals at any of the Disney table service restaurants that look interesting to you.  These restaurants fill up quickly so you would be wise to have reservations before you arrive for vacation.  Let us know if you need any recommendations for where to dine.  I love Disney dining questions!  If you're trying to locate the perfect character dining experience (your granddaughter would love this!) or a restaurant with a particular cuisine, just post a follow-up question to the Moms Panel and ask.  We'd be delighted to share our recommendations with you.

Best wishes as your prepare for your magical Disney adventure!
