Hi Christy! Welcome to planDisney.
I’ve also got a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort planned for June, and cannot wait for the fun to begin. I’m especially excited to catch the last few days of the
Taste of EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, and to enjoy DOLE Whip, time in my resort hotel pool, and all the other summer fun. We’re both going to be in the middle of the magic in just a few short months – woo hoo!
Here’s how the
park hopping procedure currently works at the Walt Disney World Resort. As a Guest who holds
theme park tickets with the Park Hopper option, you will make
Disney Park Pass reservations for the park you would like to attend first for each day of your visit. Park hopping begins at a set time each day; that time is currently 2:00 p.m., although that time could change in the future. The
Park Hours (viewed either on the website or in your My Disney Experience App) will always be your best source for Park Hopper Hours. Once Park Hopper Hours begin, Guests with the Park Hopper option on their tickets may hop to the second park of their choice, as long as it’s not at capacity. You do not need a Disney Park Pass reservation for any parks you hop to, but you must have a reservation AND actually enter the park for which you do have a reservation. So, if you have a Disney Park Pass reservation for EPCOT, you must first enter EPCOT before hopping to another theme park.
The
My Disney Experience mobile app is a very helpful tool in this process. You can use it to check Park Hopper Hours from inside the theme parks. It will also display a message if any park is at capacity during Park Hopper Hours so that you know hopping there is not an option. Also, Cast Members at a theme park may ask to see your Park Hopper ticket before you board Disney transportation headed to another theme park; you can show the ticket from the app.
I hope this helps you understand the Park Hopper process as it is currently working. As part of the Walt Disney World Resort’s phased reopening, things are always changing based on health and safety guidance, so be sure to keep an eye on the
Know Before You Go web page and the
Disney Parks Blog for the latest news and updates.
Have so much fun planning and dreaming, Christy! Please come back and see us if you have any further questions. We’ll see ya real soon!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
