I am coming to disney in June with my husband and our 2 sons age 7 & 9 yrs. I am really worrying about them getting separated from us as they will be so excited and want to explore, i would be very grateful for tips on keeping them safe. thanks.

    Hi Rachel,

There are a number of things that you can do to keep your boys safe while vacationing at Walt Disney World.

1.)  As soon as you arrive at Walt Disney World, introduce your boys to any of the friendly cast members there.  Point out their distinctive nametags.  Tell your boys that if they get separated from you to go to a cast member.  Since these folks are the only ones who wear the distinctive Disney nametags, they will be easy to identify.  Cast members have been trained how to assist lost children and your boys will be able to get the assistance they need from these helpful folks.

2.)  Will you be taking a cell phone?  If so, put your cell phone number in each of your boys' pockets at the beginning of every day.  Then, if they become separated they can ask a cast member to call you immediately.

3.) Always designate a clearly marked meeting spot before you walk into large gift shops or restrooms.

4.)  If they will consent to it, dress your boys in very bright t-shirts.  This makes it easier for you to spot them if they do wander off.

Have a wonderful vacation in June.  I'm sure your family will have a magical time together.
