    Coming to Disney the end of Oct. Want to do a character dinner but they are all booked. Can you make reservations for a character meal at a Disney resort if you are not staying at a Disney hotel? Thanks!

    Hi Jill,

    You can absolutely make a dining reservation at a restaurant located at one of the Disney Resort hotels even if you are not staying there. My family love to do this as it gives us an opportunity to have a look round other Resort hotels and helps us to decide where we might like to stay during future visits.

    My best advice to you would be to keep checking for availability for a Character Meal online or by calling (407) 939-3463 frequently between now and the day of your arrival as openings do sometimes appear as Guests begin to firm up their plans particularly with the credit card guarantee policy now being in place.

    If you still don't have any luck, I would recommend calling to check for availability when you arrive at Walt Disney World and last of all, you certainly have nothing to lose by simply walking up to the check-in desk at any Character Meal and asking if they can accommodate your party - although there is no guarantee that they will.
