hi. we are coming to disney early feb. staying at the fort wilderness cabins ... 1. do the cabins come with shampoos/soaps and towels? 2. taxi/driving distance to walmart or grocery store. we will not rent a car. 3. should we bother going to waterparks?

Hi Lynn!  The Fort Wilderness cabins do indeed come with the shampoos, soaps and lots of towels.  You will have daily maid service as well so clean towels and any other item will be replaced as needed.  They will also have dishwasher soap in the kitchen if you need to run the dishwasher before the maid returns.

The closest grocery store is about 15-20 minute taxi drive (depending on traffic) to the area across from Downtown Disney.  Please be aware that there are also two Trading Posts in Fort Wilderness that sell quite a few food items that might have what you need. Another option is to use to select your choices on line.  You can pay with a credit card and request a day for delivery and when you check in the food will be in the cabin and perishables put away for you. We have used this many times and it is great!

February is a month when the weather can be quite cool or actually warm.  In the past we have opted to forgo the water parks since the temperatures generally are cool in the mornings and evenings and I am one who likes my pool water to reach the 90's!  I would definitely bring the swim suits and make it a last minute decision depending on the weather.
