    Hi! We are coming to Disney Dec.12-21. Staying in a cabin at Fort Wilderness. Wondering what the weather is like and will it be really busy this time of year? Is it possible to do a water park? I am so excited! I have always wanted to go around Christmas!

    Hello, Heather!  Welcome to the Moms Panel!

    Oh, you are going to LOVE Walt Disney World during this time of year.  The sights and sounds of the season are in full swing and everything is just extra MAGICAL!

    The weather can be tricky.  I always visit in December and there have been visits when my family just needed a light sweater in the evenings and then there have been some when we have had to layer our sweaters or pull out the jackets.  However, I have to say there has been more "light sweater" visits than "jacket" visits.  You will just need to check the weather forecast as your vacation approaches.  

    Historically, crowd levels have been low during mid-December.  The crowds tend to pick-up around the 24th.  It looks like you will leaving as everyone is arriving.  Good job with your planning!  I do need to add that crowd trends can change every year, but I think you're safe.  

    Oh, you will certainly want to take advantage of Disney's Water Parks.  Disney keeps their water temperatures at a constant 82 degrees year round in order for their guests to enjoy their water parks and resort pools no matter what time of the year they visit.
