    Hi, we are coming to Disney with our boys will be 3, 6, 7, 9. We have the quick dining plan, and I'm wondering if a character dining is worth the extra expense? If so, can you suggest one that has Pluto. Do they do something special for birthdays? Thx!

    Hi Kerri:

    I have a 8-year old boy and a 6-year old boy, both of whom love Pluto as well. I strongly suggest trying a character dining experience.  It’s a great opportunity to have your favorite characters visit your table for pictures and an autograph.  While characters are always subject to change, I would look into Chef Mickey’s and Garden Grill.  If you choose between the two, I would pick Chef Mickey's.

    The energy at Chef Mickey's is incredible. My boys not only enjoy the huge buffet, but their smiles shine when Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, and Minnie stop by the table to pose for pictures and sign autographs.  That being said, you can't go wrong with The Garden Grill either. What my boys love about The Garden Grill is that the restaurant rotates, a feat our kitchen at home can't match. And they love seeing Chip 'n' Dale and friends at the restaurant. Every time I've eaten at The Garden Grill, Chip 'n' Dale have always been accompanied by Pluto. But because characters are subject to change, there could be a chance Pluto may not make a meal at The Garden Grill.

    Since this is a birthday visit, remember to check in at City Hall at the Magic Kingdom, or at guest relations at other parks, and pick up a “birthday" button. Many Cast Members will go out of their way to wish you and your party well, or greet you all with a kind gesture to make the visit more memorable.
