I am coming to disney in August with my two children ages 5 and 6. I am concerned for the huanted mansion being scary to them. do you have any suggestions that I could do prior to the trip to help lesson the scare factor?

    Hi Carrie!

I can tell you what not to do - don't let them see the movie "Haunted Mansion!"  It scared the pants off of my younger boys, even though they love the attraction.  I think that your kids are old enough to understand that it is all "Disney Magic" and that the hapless haunts are just there to make us laugh.  If you visit Allearsnet.com, they have a list of "Hidden Mickeys" that can be found within the ride.  Perhaps if you prepare your children before hand to be on the lookout for them, they may enjoy the attraction even more!  Also, have both of them sit in the "doom buggy" with you, rather than trying to brave it on their own.  For even more reassurance, hang out near the exit and let them watch the faces of the kiddos exiting the experience - 99.9% of them will be grinning ear to ear!

    Much pixie dust,
