We are coming to Disney in August and staying on the resort, therefore, we will not have any personal transportation to leave the resort. We are from Canada so taking a trip to Target is a must! What is the chepest way to go off resort? Cab, rent a car?

    Hi Brad,

Although I think the costs related to renting a car for one day at Walt Disney World would be similar to cab fares to and from Target (less than $50), I think the rental car would be the better option.  You can pick up your car at the Alamo/National desk at either the Dolphin Hotel or the Car Care Center near the Magic Kingdom.  In addition to using the car to pick up supplies at Target, you could also use it to drive directly to other Disney hotels or Downtown Disney to do some exploring.  There's so much to see and do on Walt Disney World property and having a rental car at your disposal might allow you to cover more ground in less time.  That's what I would do.

Wishing you a magical vacation in August.
