Hi We are coming to disney in august for the very first time. We are staying at POR and have a water view booked. Can we ask for rooms closest to buses etc and which area would be the best to request? Also how often do the buses run?

    Hi Beth!

I just returned from a magical stay at Port Orleans Riverside last weekend! This is by far my favorite moderate Disney resort hotel and I'm certain you'll love your experience there this August! Be sure to find the time to kick back and enjoy the resort offerings as there is so much to see and do without ever leaving the Riverside/ French Quarter properties!

The buses on average run about every 20 minutes. My personal experience was that there was almost always a motor coach pulling up and en route to our destination every time we decided to visit the theme parks so, I think the 20 minute estimate is an outside time frame.

You are more than welcome to request a room location nearer to the bus transportation, on the ground floor, etc. Just make a note of this during your online check-in up to 10 days prior to your arrival. A great unofficial fan site for all things Port can be found at: www.portorleans.org. There is a section on the main page titled "Rooms and Prices" that includes suggestions for the best room locations and special requests.

Thanks so much for visiting us here at the Walt Disney World Moms Panel! Wishing you a pixie-dusted Port Orleans vacation!
