Hello. We are coming to Disney in August. My daughter will turn 16 in October. It has been a dream of hers to do the Keys to the Kingdom Tour. Being that she will only be a couple of months shy of 16 would she be able to do the tour with me?

    Welcome to planDisney, Kate!

Happy Birthday in advance to your daughter! A summer trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth is a great way to get the celebration started, even if you're a few months early.

It sounds as if our daughters have very similar must-dos for their stays in the magic! Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour also made it to the top of our list on our most recent trip. When checking in, the Cast Members will check each Guest's ID to confirm age, and unfortunately, no exceptions are made. We found this out the hard way, as my daughter forgot her ID at the hotel. We had to prove her age before she was able to join the experience.

Kate, I am sure this wasn't the news you were hoping to receive. I understand getting a no when it comes to a big dream can lead to big disappointment. While it might not be the same, there are still some really amazing ways to make this upcoming trip extra magical for you and your daughter. The Enchanting Extras Collection is full of unique experiences, and not all offerings have age requirements! My teens have a few favorites, including the Fireworks Cruises and the Wild Africa Trek tour. And while the big dream may have to hold off just a bit longer, waiting also means there's a reason to plan another trip real soon.

I hope that you and your daughter have a magical time!
