WE are coming December 28 - January 4th. Our 10 year old uses a wheelchair and we'll need a family restroom for bathroom issues. We'll also have our 4 year old (both boys). We'll be driving from Texas and staying about 10 miles away. Any advice?

    Hi there Christie!

After traveling with dietary, sensory and mobility restrictions in my own family, I've experienced first hand that Walt Disney World is the IDEAL vacation to recommend for accommodating special needs travel. I know of no other destination that provides a printable disability guide; a dedicated phone number and e-mail address for special diets; on-site wheelchair and ECV rentals; transportation, resort rooms and swimming pools that are wheelchair-accessible; and assistive devices for hearing and visual impairments. Parents can then actually relax and have fun, knowing that cast members will help make everyone's Disney experience a positive one!

Simply check out this link for a listing of companion- assisted restroom facilities through out the Disney theme and water parks. You might also be interested in this link to the first aid stations for even more family restroom options.

Thanks for taking the time to visit us at the Walt Disney World Moms Panel and feel free to send more questions our way in the days leading up to your trip! May your Disney vacation be practically perfect in every way!
