Coming for 7 days, with a 2 1/2 year old. We are going to MK twice and HS twice since he loves toy story, what other park should we spend 2 days at? Epcot or AK?? Also do you think he would like MNSSHP or is he too young? Thanks so much!”
Hi Elisa:
Choosing to spend a two days at either Epcot or Animal Kingdom with a two and a half year old, I would spend two days at Epcot due to its number and variety of attractions and size. In fact, no matter the age, I find that it's a bit difficult to stretch Animal Kingdom into two days on a single vacation. At Epcot, my family always takes in Spaceship Earth, Living with the Land, Soarin', Turtle Talk with Crush, the Seas with Nemo & Friends, the attractions inside the Innoventions pavilions (my boys are currently obsessed with The Great Piggy Bank Adventure), and tour the countries of World Showcase.
At Animal Kingdom, we always hit Kilimanjaro Safari, a ride through the 100-acre park savannah where we typically see rhinos, lions, giraffes, flamingos, and many other animals along the way. We also hop aboard the Wildlife Express Train and visit Rafiki's Planet Watch area, Affection Section, and Conservation Station. My boys also spend a lot of time playing in The Boneyard, a dinosaur-themed playground. The Boneyard features a multi-level maze, climbing areas, tunnels, and a large shaded sandbox where kids can dig up fossils. Animal Kingdom is fun but can be done in a day. Epcot can be more easily stretched out.
I brought my then three and a half year old to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. He enjoyed it very much, but did konk out fairly early. If you think your little one can stay up late to take advantage of the parade, rides, and trick or treating, then it's likely worth it.
