Hi we’re coming at Christmas and new year is there any tips or tricks? Do we need any special tickets? Will be able to be in the park till midnight New Years? How busy is it?

Hello, Emalie! Welcome to planDisney, and thanks so much for stopping by with an excellent question for us!
Walt Disney World at the holidays is pure magic! You are in for a real spectacular celebration and will make so many memories. Given that the Most Magical Place on Earth is operational every day of the year, the holidays are not much different when it comes to Theme Park Tickets! There is nothing special needed, though you will still need to make Park Pass Reservations, and I recommend securing these in advance. There is the option to participate in the Disney Very Merriest After Hours this year, which requires a separate Ticket. This special event will allow you to visit Magic Kingdom Park with lower crowds and experience the sights and sounds of the holidays in a new and fantastic way! Plus, you will have access to the Theme Park at 7 pm with your After Hours Ticket. The official event will start at 9 pm and run until midnight! Check out the page for more information and to learn about purchasing Tickets. No additional Theme Park Tickets are needed for this event!
Otherwise, simply get ready to have the most magical holiday celebration ever! There is no shortage of incredible merriment; from the sights to the sounds to the treasures in the retail stores, you will be immersed in the holiday spirit! As far as how busy it will be, this isn't easy to predict, even for us! Crowd prediction calendars are available from many sources, though, in my experiences, only time will tell! Park Pass Reservations are still required, which I can imagine will limit crowds to some degree. Check out the Park Hours to see how long you'll be able to enjoy it all! Keep in mind that the late December hours may be posted a little closer to the date. There are still safety precautions in place to protect the health and safety of all who visit and to make sure all have a great time!

Emalie, I hope that this information is helpful to you as you continue to plan and dream! If we can help in any other ways, do not hesitate to come back and see us! We would love to hEAR From you again soon!
    Wishing you many magical memories,
