Hi Roger,
Welcome back to planDisney! We love hearing from long-time guests like you who want to get the most out of every visit to Walt Disney World.
Congratulations on this amazing milestone! My husband and I are right behind you. We mark our 40th anniversary next year. And we often celebrate our anniversary at Walt Disney World.
We've got lots of favorite Disney restaurants for birthdays, Christmas, our anniversary and other celebrations. You asked specifically about skipping an entree and ordering appetizers and dessert only. The answer is yes, you absolutely can do that. We often find that we like the variety of the appetizers and order three or four to share rather than each having an entree. Or we share a couple of apps and split an entree. It's all perfectly fine.
Wine Bar George is a terrific place for small bites. You can't go wrong with flaming cheese, a charcuterie board and the house-made meatballs. Or at
Sanaa at Animal Kingdom Lodge, we make a meal of the bread service, lamb kefta and samosas with room to share the black sesame sundae. Or put together your own buffet at
Morimoto Asia with the shumai dumplings, the shishito peppers and a sushi roll or two with the churro donuts for dessert.
If you are looking for appetizer meals without a reservation, I have a few recommendations there as well. Top on our list is the
Nomad Lounge in Animal Kingdom. There's often a wait, but you can put your name on the list. (We love the Bangkok chicken wings and the Korean barbeque mushroom bao buns). If the wait is long at Nomad, the adjacent Tiffins sometimes has better availability during the day and has similar appetizers.
We also love sitting at the bar at
Steakhouse 71 in the Contemporary for a dinner of a crab cake, onion rings and the loaded mac and cheese. And
Three Bridges Bar & Grill at Coronado Springs is a go-to for us to share the trio of dips and a burger.
Happy dining, Roger!
Wishing you many more years of celebration together.
Wilma
