Hi Peggy!
Oh boy, this sounds like a fabulous sunshine escape from our mid-Atlantic wintery weather in February – good thinking! I love visiting the
Walt Disney World Resort in February and I’m happy to share more details of what you can expect for your stay at
Disney’s BoardWalk Inn.
Please know that the Walt Disney World Resort is in full bloom 365 days a year, for all four seasons. While schedules are subject to change, I think you’ll find all the
BoardWalk entertainment bustling in the evenings without a seasonal pause. Be sure to ask for a Times Guide at the front desk upon arrival or check for details in the
My Disney Experience App as available. I love strolling the beautiful BoardWalk area in the evenings and seeing these performers; I have not had to plan for them in the past as they always seem to be out and are a fun surprise when we approach the area to see them in action.
Yes, you’ll be pleased to know that all
Disney Resorts Collection hotel pools are heated to a comfortable temperature year-round. I tend to bring warmer cover-ups during my winter visits, so perhaps one with long sleeves or a hood, but we have always been able to swim on these vacations. You may not require a mid-day pool break as you would in the summertime from being in the peak sun, but you can enjoy the resort pools at your leisure. It’s such a treat to feel we’re swimming in February, knowing our friends and family at home may be shoveling snow at the same time.
I love the Resort refillable mugs, and I’m glad to hear you are already planning on purchasing one. With your stay next year, you are eligible to
add a dining plan as they become available in 2024 again! Whether you choose the
Disney Dining Plan or the
Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan, you will receive a Resort refillable mug with these plans for each member of your family. These are eligible for refills of soda, coffee, and tea at the
BoardWalk Deli, located outside of the lobby near the
Pizza Window. I also confirmed with a Cast Member that
Carousel Coffee will allow refills of a cup of brewed coffee or tea as well (not specialty coffee beverages). Please confirm with the resort's Front Desk upon arrival that this is still the policy in place when you arrive, as things are always subject to change.
I hope this information has you getting excited for this special trip, Peggy. After the excitement of the holiday season, it’s so nice to have a Disney vacation on the horizon as we turn the corner into a quiet new year and have the dreary winter upon us. Please don’t be a stranger to planDisney; we’re here to answer any question you have as you finalize the details of this vacation.
Wishing you a magical escape,
Amy
