Hi! Coming to Bay Lake Tower 12/6-12/12 2026. Do you happen to know what renovations are happening during that time at BLT and Contemporary atrium?

Welcome to planDisney, Jessica. Let's get your question answered!

You're asking about my home! My home with Disney Vacation Club, that is. Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort is such a great extension of this classic resort. And the location can't be beat. You are literally steps away from Magic Kingdom Park and have easy access to the monorail, which will also get you to EPCOT, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. And for me, there's just something about waking up, getting a coffee from Contemporary Grounds and a delicious treat from Contempo Café before making my way to the original park at the Walt Disney World Resort! It just puts an extra pep in your step, you know? Plus, the newly refurbished rooms at Bay Lake Tower are sleek, refined, and a great upgrade.

Construction and refurbishment updates are typically in orange on the resort's page. While timelines are subject to change, they give you a general idea of where and when construction will be occurring. Currently, the atrium and Bay Lake Tower will be refurbished in phases through late 2027, and the Bay Cove Pool, the Cove Bar, the water play area, and the whirlpool at Bay Lake Tower will be closed for maintenance through early May 2026. But don't worry, construction typically occurs during hours when most Guests are awake and out of their rooms.

One of my favorite things to do when I'm at this resort, besides eating, is to watch the Happily Ever After fireworks in the viewing area located just after the Skyway Bridge that connects this tower to the main resort. You'll find it after crossing the bridge from Bay Lake Tower on the right. There are some benches, and the music is usually piped in. While you won't see the projections on Cinderella Castle, you will see the amazing fireworks dance in the sky. And there's just something special about being able to see those fireworks, and then just go up to your room afterward. Of course, if you have a theme park view, you won't even need to leave your room at all. Just step out onto your balcony and enjoy!

Jessica, best wishes for an amazing trip. If you have any other questions, I'm all ears!

Wishing you calm mornings and sparkling nights on Bay Lake,
    Matt
