Hi, Michael! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter is one of my favorite Walt Disney World Resort Hotels. Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter is rather small in comparison to many other Disney Resort Hotels, so it feels very relaxing and peaceful as you stroll through the resort's beautiful cobblestone streets. One of my favorite things about staying at this resort is the convenient
water taxi access to Disney Springs.
The Walt Disney World website has some great information on
services for guests with mobility disabilities that you may find helpful. Mobility access to water transportation can vary due to the type of watercraft and existing water conditions, so it is best to speak with a Cast Member at the watercraft dock for more information. I can tell you that my family stayed at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter on an extended family vacation a few years ago. Three members of our party were using electric conveyance vehicles (scooters), and they were able to access the water transportation from our resort hotel to Disney Springs without issue. There are ramps to and from the boat docks at both the resort hotel and Disney Springs.
While you are staying at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter, be sure to stop by
Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory for some beignets. They are delicious!
Have a magical day!
Samantha
