Coming back for the first time in 25 years. Things have changed! Staying at Wilderness Lodge. Do they still valet park your vehicle? Do they still meet you at the door and collect and store your luggage if you get there before check in?

    Hi Kathleen!
    Welcome to planDisney.

I am excited to see this is your first visit in 25 years!  I'm also aware it can be a little overwhelming, so please use us at planDisney!  Take a look at our Video Library where many of our panelists give tips and advice about many different subjects including thrill rides, the Disney dining plans, water parks and so much more.  If you have more questions, send them in!  We will be very happy to help you ease your way back to Walt Disney World!

Self-parking is complimentary for all Disney Resort hotel guests who have an overnight stay.  Valet parking is available at Disney Deluxe Resorts for a charge (currently US$39 - subject to change).  There is no charge for Disney Resort hotel guests parking at the four theme parks, and parking is free for all guests at the water parks and Disney Springs.

Depending on the check-in queue, you will often be greeted at the entrance, outside or inside.  I have never encountered a lengthy check-in wait at Disney's Wilderness Lodge.  You may leave your luggage with the Bell Services team at the outside entrance, or take it to the Front Desk when you check in.  Bell Services will store it safely and securely until your room is ready.  You can then collect it yourselves or they will deliver it to your room for you.  You will need to be present in your room to accept delivery.   The usual check-in time at Disney Resort hotels is 3.00 pm, but if you use Online Check-in you will receive a text message or email (whatever is your preference) with details of your room number when it is ready.

On your arrival day, you have full use of the hotel's amenities so you are welcome to use the pool, and the restaurants, relax around the resort, and explore a little.  Or you can head straight to the parks to soak up some magic as soon as you arrive.

Disney's Wilderness Lodge happens to be my favourite place to stay!  Enjoy a relaxing boat ride to/from Magic Kingdom Park, take a walk along the waterfront, past Copper Creek Springs Pool and Fire Rock Geyser (which is a wonder of nature as it erupts every hour from 7.00 am).  I highly recommend Geyser Point Bar & Grill, not least for its stunning location beside Bay Lake, which is beautiful day or night, but also for a relaxing drink or delicious meal.

Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions.  You can also send me a direct question about Wilderness Lodge, or any other planning questions.  We will be very happy to help.
