    I. I am coming from Australia to spend 1 day at Disneyland in honour of my 6 year old daughter who died from brain cancer last year. It was her last bucket list item we never got to complete. What is a good itinerary for 1 day for adults of a 6 yr old?

Hello and welcome to planDisney, Amanda. It is my honor to share some recommendations for your upcoming visit to the Disneyland Resort.

I am so sorry to hear about your little princess and offer you my deepest condolences. What a beautiful way to honor your daughter's memory. When I lost my sister to cancer, my mom, sister and I also made a visit to Disneyland in her honor as it was a place that she loved. I definitely recommend going at your own pace and taking whatever time you need throughout the day.

A place we found peaceful for reflection was the Snow White Grotto located off to the right of Sleeping Beauty Castle. Snow White was also my sister's favorite princess and it was nice to spend some time in a spot that we know she would have loved. You can experience attractions themed to characters that your daughter loved and also visit these characters in the theme park. You might consider bringing a photograph of your daughter or a keepsake that reminds you of her with you and taking pictures with characters that she loved and wanted to meet.

During our visit, we also purchased a balloon in her favorite color. You could do this and then gift the balloon to a child to pass on your daughter's joy and in her memory. Another idea is to get a Mickey Mouse Ear Hat and have her name embroidered on the back to take home with you. If you have the chance, I also recommend trying to catch a viewing of Wondrous Journeys. There are many scenes that touched my heart during this nighttime spectacular and I think you'll enjoy it too.

No matter what you decide to do, I just know that your daughter will be with you during your visit and smiling down on you. Again, take the space that you need and try to have a little fun too as I'm sure your princess would have wanted that as well.

Before I leave you, one quick reminder that a valid theme park ticket and theme park reservation are both required for entrance. Please reach out to your nearest travel agent for assistance and additional details.

Amanda, if you have other questions as you continue to think about your visit, please come back to share them with us. It is our honor to help you as you plan this trip in memory of your daughter.

    Sending you a warm hug,
    Michelle
