Coming in April with our 15 month old dd; a busy bee and doesn't believe in the arts of sitting still or being patient. We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge. Would you rec renting a car or taking our chances on WDW transportation?

    HI Sara!

I remember the days of the busy-bee toddler!  My boys had a lot of that in them, as well=)

One upside of using the Walt Disney World transportation system is that you can hold your toddler on your lap and entertain her (iPhone, iPad, toys, snacks, etc.) while riding.  The buses/monorail/boats will also drop you off right at the entrance of the parks, which is a huge convenience.  If you're bringing your own stroller, you can also take those on.  Usually, even the busiest of bees are tired on the trip back home, and often fall asleep in your arms.  I have some wonderful memories of my boys on my chest after a long day of magic!

The only downside I see for using Disney transportation is the occasional long wait for them.  I don't think I have ever waited more than 20 minutes, though, and it's usually much less.

We enjoy having a rental car if we are going to explore outside of Disney property,  but otherwise we stick with Disney transportation.  If you do end up renting a car, I would still take the boat transportation from Wilderness Lodge to the Magic Kingdom.  Otherwise, you would have to drive your car to the Ticket and Transportation Center, and then ride a monorail to the Magic Kingdom.  That's a lot longer and more complicated than simply taking the boat.

I hope this helps!  Please let me know if you have any other questions as you prepare for your trip.
