Hello; we are coming in April 2014 with our family of 5. We generally like to have a little more room then a standard hotel so I was considering either a Cabin at Fort Wildnerness or a suite at Art of Animation but I can't decide! Any advice?

    Hi Chantelle!

Congratulations on your Spring 2014 trip to Walt Disney World! Your family is going to have SUCH a Magical time!

The Cabins and Family Suites are both fantastic options for your family of 5. You'll definitely find that extra space you're looking for at either of the resorts you mention.

Personally, my top pick would be a Family Suite at Disney's Art of Animation Resort. The resort is brand new, full of Disney magic and has convenient, direct bus service without additional stops or transfers. I've stayed at the resort myself and it's absolutely fantastic! The food court has a vast array of dining choices and the Grab 'n Go areas offer great snacks and treats to take back to your room. Your kitchenette includes a sink, microwave and small fridge in this room type. It's perfect for a family who wants a little more room with plenty of Disney's special touches - but without plans of cooking your own meals.

If you're wanting to able to cook full meals in your room, then a Cabin at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort is your better bet offering a full size kitchen with oven, stove top, dishwasher and full fridge with freezer. The theming here is much more rustic and cozy. You'll find you'll need to allow for additional travel time to and from the parks due to this resort's expansiveness. Internal shuttles for the cabins and campsites will take you to the resort's main depots from which you'll find direct transportation into the parks.

I hope this added information helps you to decide which resort is the better option for your family's tastes and needs Chantelle. If you have additional questions, please don't hesitate to write me back. I'd love to hear from you again my Canadian friend!

Wishing you a simply Magical time as you plan your April visit to Walt Disney World!
