Hi there, Jason, and welcome to planDisney!
Can you believe you're just ONE sleep away from The Most Magical Place on Earth?!? That sounds like
a great big beautiful tomorrow to me! Like you, I love using
Disney Gift Cards during my Walt Disney World Resort vacations, and by purchasing them in the weeks and months leading up to a visit, it's a great way to spread out the cost of magical meals, merchandise, and Mickey-shaped snacks.
I see that you're already familiar with the process that allows you to combine multiple Disney Gift Cards onto a single card (up to $1,000) for convenient storage and are looking to add that particular card to your Apple Wallet, another convenient tool for maximizing efficiency and minimizing what you'll need to carry with you into the theme parks each day.
When purchasing (or receiving) a new digital Disney Gift Card, the email you receive should have a barcode that can be used to redeem the gift card at points of sale, and just below that, a button that says. 'Add to Apple Wallet'. If you're not seeing that option, try looking for three dots at the bottom of the email to expand the text of the email, or since you indicated that you are combining gift card balances, it could be that you have previously added the card to your wallet.
Now, if the cards you combined were all physical gift cards, unfortunately, these are not able to be added to a mobile wallet at the time, so you'll need to
purchase a new Disney Gift Card eGift — in any amount — transfer your existing card onto the new digital card, and add that card to your Apple Wallet using the process outlined above.
It's also worth noting that while Disney Gift Cards cannot be stored as a payment method in the My Disney Experience app at this time, you can still use yours to pay for purchases made through the app. You'll simply choose 'Disney Gift Card' as your payment method and enter the card's number and EAN to complete the purchase. To expedite this process, I like to save these numbers in the Notes app of my phone so that I'm able to copy and paste them directly into the app rather than manually entering them for each
Mobile Food and Beverage Order or purchase using
Merchandise Mobile Checkout.
I hope this clears things up for you, Jason! If you have any additional questions about using your Disney Gift Card, don't hesitate to channel your inner Tarzan and swing back by
planDisney for assistance. My husband will be the first to tell you that spending money at a Disney destination is what I do best, so you've got a friend in me!
Thinking Happy Thought,
Lizzie
