Hello Cindy and welcome to planDisney!
I am always looking for a deal on Disney Gift Cards! If I’m planning a trip or just getting ready to pay the annual dues for my Disney Vacation Club membership, I am on the hunt for those money saving beauties!
The first place for you to get familiar with is the easy-to-use
Disney Gift Card website. Once you have logged into the site, scroll down to the “Add a Card” block. It will open a window that will ask you to name the card, enter the account number of the card, and then take care scratching off the silver coating of the card, and enter the EAN number. This will add the card to the website and allow you to begin consolidating. I suggest naming each card and using a sharpie to write this name on the back of the physical card if you have one. This will allow you easy access to the card you want to grab when it is time to head to the parks to use your little beauty!
To consolidate cards, you will see the cards you have added, and you will see a “Manage” link attached to that card. Select that link and it will take you to a window where it will allow you to transfer funds to this card. It will allow you to transfer up to three cards at one time, so you can get a quick transfer on to the card you want most of your funds to end up on. You can transfer funds up to a total of $1,000 maximum on one card.
Cindy, there are many times when I’ll purchase electronic gift cards, but I still like to have one physical card to transfer funds to so I can have it with me on my trip. I will always jot down the beginning balance in my notes function of my phone and when I use the card to enjoy a Mickey Bar I’ll get the remaining balance, so I have a running total of what is left on my little beauty!
Cindy, have an amazing time on your adventure and I hope you can enjoy a Mickey Bar or two with your Disney Gift Cards!
