What do the colors on the magic band mean

    Hey there, hi there, Denise!

Thanks for stopping by planDisney, where you're always as welcome as can be. I'd be delighted to discuss MagicBand+ with a fellow Mouseketeer today. Let's get going!

MagicBand+ is the coolest and most useful accessory for your Walt Disney World vacation. I love the convenience of walking around knowing I can purchase things, enter the theme parks, and unlock my resort room door, all with a tap of my wrist. I can venture out for coffee in the morning without digging around for my wallet or keys. It's a beautiful thing!

You see various colors in several places while you don your MagicBand+. First, when you enter a theme park, at the tapstile, GREEN means go. As soon as the circles around the Mickey head and finger scanner turn green, you have successfully redeemed your theme park admission and are free to begin your day. Are you a Disney Vacation Club member? One of the circles will usually turn PURPLE, signaling a welcome home. If the circles turn BLUE at the entry point, you must re-scan your band and finger because something went wrong.

When approaching an attraction through the Lightning Lane entrance or Virtual Queue, you'll need to wait again for the circle around Mickey's head at the entry point to turn green before proceeding. A blue circle around Mickey's head means it's not quite your turn to ride, or your return window has passed. If this happens, a Cast Member will assist you.

If you're referring to the colors ON your MagicBand+, those illuminate when your surroundings trigger a reaction. When your MagicBand+ is charged, it will light up with various colors as you pass by one of the 50th anniversary golden statues, locate bounty in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, or view a theme park nighttime spectacular. Quick tip: while these unique and colorful in-park responses only occur when your MagicBand+ is charged, if the battery runs out during the day, no worries! Hakuna Matata! All other MagicBand+ functions, like theme park admission redemption, still function without a full charge.

I hope this has been helpful and informative, Denise. Please write back if there is anything else I can do to assist with MagicBand+ or any other part of your Walt Disney World vacation. Thanks again for sending your question to us, and have a magical day!

    Cheers,
    Betsy
