Hi Marialuz,
Thanks so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. How wonderful, to be visiting Walt Disney World for your little one's second birthday!
Both Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Disney's Contemporary Resort are lovely resorts. I suggest that you look at their websites to see if the rustic feel or
Disney's Wilderness Lodge or the modern spirit of
Disney's Contemporary Resort is more appealing to your family. You also should consider that from Disney's Contemporary Resort, you can walk or take the monorail to Magic Kingdom; whereas from Disney's Wilderness Lodge, you would need to take a boat or bus. Finally, Disney's Wilderness Lodge typically has room rates that are lower than Disney's Contemporary Resort, so you might want to factor in budget.
Magic Kingdom is a perfect place to celebrate a second birthday! I suggest that you get birthday button, which you can pick up free of charge at Guest Relations. Although no special magic is guaranteed, you never know when a little extra pixie dust might be sprinkled on your little one's special day. My daughter wore a birthday button when celebrating her seventh birthday at Magic Kingdom and got a huge cupcake surprise after her lunch at The Plaza Restaurant! Even if nothing like this happens, it is really fun to hear cast members and guests wish your little one a happy birthday all day long. Likewise, on any dining and resort reservations that you make, do be sure to indicate that you are celebrating a birthday. Again, no special magic is guaranteed, but it just might happen!
I would love to help you plan further Marialuz; however, I am limited in the amount of space that I have to answer. Please do write back if you have any further questions!
