Does a college id work for proof of residency to get the resident ticket rate? If someone is living in the dorms but does not have a CA drivers license yet?

    Hiya Carrie!

Welcome to planDisney! I love visiting California and have had some great memories with my friends and family there. I could see it also being a great place to be a college student. Sunshine, great natural wonders, and the home of Disneyland Resort! (I'm sure there is also education and studying but imagine doing that with a view of the Matterhorn Bobsleds)

I confirmed with a Cast Member and on the Disneyland Resort website and found that the only proof that will be accepted is a valid government-issued photo ID that shows residency within the 90000-93599 ZIP codes. There is no other proof that will be accepted at the ticket booths. However, if you look at the current So Cal Resident ticket, it is valid for use from January 2 through June 2, 2024.  This 3-day ticket which allows you to visit 1 park per day can be used on nonconsecutive days! It's such a great deal and since it has a large usage window, you may have time to get that California driver's license and still get plenty of time in the Parks. Start practicing your smile for your new license photo and get ready for some magic!

Good luck with your schooling and sunshine! I hope you find a way to one of my favorite places and come back if you have more questions!

    Happy Planning!

My husband and I work very hard to journey to our favorite place on Earth, Walt Disney World Resort, as much as we can. We have traveled as just adults, with babies, kids, teenagers, and senior citizens. We have seen so many characters, eaten at amazing places, and consumed a ton of Dole Whips. So "give a little whistle" and let me be your guide! Learn More About Nimmy
