Our college age daughter is joining us on this trip and lives with chronic pain. She has no restrictions for riding rides but long walks and standing for long periods makes things much worse for her. Are wheelchairs hard to reserve if needed?

    Hi Christy!

I'm so excited about your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation. One of the things I love the most about Walt Disney World is the way they take care of every single Guest, no matter what their needs! Wheelchair Rental is available at the entrance of every Park, based on availability. Be aware, however, that you cannot remove a wheelchair from a Park so if you are planning to visit more than one Park per day you will need to turn it in at the first Park and present your receipt at the second Park to receive another wheelchair. You could also contact a Disney Featured Provider to rent a wheelchair ahead of time. They will deliver it to your hotel before you arrive and pick it up after you leave. That way, it is yours for the entire length of your visit. We have done this many times for our special needs son and it works great! I would highly recommend it to you.

Also, take a minute to read about the Disability Access Service Card available to those who have a hard time waiting in lines. Simply stop by Guest Services inside the entrance of each Park as soon as you arrive to make your request. You will be given a return time to a Ride or Attraction of your choice (based on current wait times) which might be easier for your daughter. It is a fantastic way to help every Guest enjoy every minute at Walt Disney World!

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you will come back if we can do anything else to assist you with your planning. Have a fantastic Walt Disney World visit and a wonderful day!
