Hi Andrew, welcome to planDisney!
One of my favorite ways to reminisce about past Walt Disney World Resort vacations is by looking through our
Memory Maker photos. I’ve got photos of our travel party pretending to sleep on
Space Mountain, my son’s first ride on
Expedition Everest- Legend of the Forbidden Mountain, and the really funny faces my toddlers made on
Frozen Ever After.
There are two ways attraction photos are linked to your My Disney Experience account. On some rides your MagicMobile pass, MagicBand, or MagicBand+ uses Bluetooth to “auto-magically” link your photo to your account after you ride an attraction. Other attractions have touch points where you link the photo to your account by scanning your MagicMobile pass or MagicBand+ at a photo display after the ride.
In your situation, when there is one My Disney Experience account that manages several others, it is possible for each member of your travel party to sign into the same account on different devices. When your family logs in to the My Disney Experience account, it is important that they have
the Bluetooth technology enabled so the photos can be linked to your account. However, having multiple devices signed into one account at the same time is not always recommended because it can cause the My Disney Experience app, or your activity within your account to move slowly.
I recommend getting the members of your family their own MagicBand+. You can still manage each family member through your account, and you just need to link the MagicBand+ to their name under “Your MagicBands and More” in the My Disney Experience app. This will allow the members of your family to collect their photos without having to be logged into your My Disney Experience account. And the MagicBand+ can also be used to enter the theme parks and check in to Lightning Lane selections.
Since I also travel with a multigenerational family, one of my top tips is to stop at every Disney PhotoPass photographer you see! You can get great family photos with the beautiful back drop of Cinderella Castle at
Magic Kingdom Park, or the Tree of Life at
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. It is such a great way to make sure everyone is in the photo together. And make sure you ask the PhotoPass photographer if they have any Magic Shots- your photo may include a surprise guest!
I hope this was helpful, Andrew. If you have any more questions, please visit us again at planDisney!
