Hi there, Nikki! Welcome to planDisney.
Oh, I
totally understand where you are coming from with this question. When my youngest outgrew the stroller, we were so sad to lose all the storage space underneath, because we pack a backpack that is full of ALL the things when we visit the Walt Disney World Resort. Hats, sweatshirts, sunscreen, snacks, water bottles – it’s a lot to lug around, especially when it’s hot!
Unfortunately, according to the
Park Rules, folding shopping carts are not permitted in the Walt Disney World theme parks. Similarly, wagons are also not allowed. This is for safety reasons.
The good news is that there are lockers for rent in each theme park and at the water parks. For all the details, including locker size, pricing, and a map with locations, please see the
Locker Rentals webpage. Depending on your family’s needs, you might want to pack one backpack that you keep with you throughout the day – my family does this because when my son gets "hangry" we need a snack on hand to avoid a meltdown. I’ve never had a problem stashing my backpack at my feet on attractions.
I hope this helps as you begin to plan your visit next year, Nikki! We are sharing lots of planning tips in the planDisney
Panel Extras, including our packing tips. I also recommend reading the
Disney Parks Blog for the latest news and updates – it’s a very big year with the
phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort and lots of excitement coming later this year with
The World’s Most Magical Celebration for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary. So many good things coming for you to enjoy when you visit!
Thanks for stopping by today, and please come back and see us if we can help with any more questions as you count down the days and do your Disney dreaming.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
