Hi, there, Kimberly, and welcome to planDisney! Thanks for bringing your question to us about collapsible stools. As someone who often visits the Disney Theme Parks with my elderly parents who need a little extra support but aren't quite ready for mobility devices, I understand the need to find ways to rest. You're smart to check on this before you visit. I don't know about you, but I love happy surprises, not unpleasant ones. Let's take a look at your options.
Quoting directly from the
Walt Disney World Property Rules, "Folding chairs are not allowed in any theme park, water park, or Disney Springs." Since collapsible stools are considered a folding chair, they aren't allowed. I know this isn't the answer you were hoping for, but I have some ideas to help maximize your fun while minimizing your steps.
First, I recommend planning out your theme park visits with the park maps in mind, which can be found using the
My Disney Experience Mobile App. Now that my parents are older, instead of zig-zagging back and forth, we tend to finish one area of the park before moving on to the next area. Second,
Lightning Lane Passes have been very helpful to minimize time on our feet. Third, if we know we'll have to stand in a long line for an attraction, we like to take a break just before we join the queue. We'll get a cold beverage, grab a snack (popcorn, for the win!), find some shade and rest our feet before the line that awaits us. Finally, booking a dining reservation at a table service restaurant during the hottest part of the day can also be clutch. Sitting down in air conditioning for a delicious meal is often the recharge we need to enjoy the rest of the day.
A bonus tip is for fireworks viewing. We've enjoyed being seated for
Happily Ever After by booking the
Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties: Seats and Sweets. Plus, imaginative desserts and festive beverages make us feel so special. At EPCOT, there are a few fireworks dining packages available to view
Luminous The Symphony of Us, such as the
Rose & Crown Fireworks Dining Package. One more bonus tip is to be flexible. We've found that if we have to stop to rest more often than we used to, that's ok.
Kimberly, I hope these tips are helpful even if they aren't exactly what you wanted. Please bring any other questions back to us here at planDisney.
Have a magical trip!
Melanie
