Hello from cold WI - 16 days and counting. We are on the dining plan and am wondering if my two boys (8&5) can share meals. Can you explain how the dining plan works for kids - specifically quick service. Can they share?

Hi, Scott! I'm shivering in Milwaukee myself, looking like a fool (read: wearing a Snuggie) as I write this message to you.

So, let's dream of warm Florida weather and talk Disney Dining Plan.

First, we have to set the stage: let's assume that it's you, your wife and your two boys. You're staying on property and have park tickets / Dining plan credits for 7 days. Therefor, each person has...
    • 7 table service credits
    • 7 quick service credits
    • 7 snack credits
Now let's break down the numbers with an example. You guys are at Hollywood Studios and are grabbing lunch at Pizza Planet. You have 4 (2 adult, 2 kids) quick service credits that you planned to redeem on the meal; however, your boys aren't that hungry now. You and the Mrs. redeem credits (2) for your own meals while you only order 1 kids meal instead of 2. Thus, 3 credits are redeemed (2 adult, 1 child) instead of 4. This means that you now have 1 extra child quick service meal credit at your disposal, which might come in handy when your boys get voraciously hungry at the oddest of times!
