Do the coffee shops offer specialty drinks made with decaf coffee? Due to health reasons I have to stay away from caffeine but still love my coffee in the morning!

    Welcome back to planDisney, Ashley!

You have uttered the magic word: “coffee,” and, like Aladdin’s Genie, I have been summoned to help with your coffee-drinking wishes and plans! You ain’t never had a friend like me!

While I like my coffee with extra pixie dust (ahem, caffeine), I certainly understand that you need to follow health guidance and drink decaffeinated java. I’m happy to confirm that you’ll find regular decaf coffee available throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. As Aladdin sings, "I can show you the world," so let's take a magic carpet ride through your Disney vacation coffee options, shall we?

If you’re staying in a Walt Disney World Resort hotel that has a coffee maker in the room, decaf coffee is always provided and can be replenished by calling Housekeeping from your room phone. (I see my pal, Bob, already helped with your questions about The Little Mermaid Standard Room at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. My family loved our stay there, and I enjoyed the walk to the Landscape of Flavors for coffee time!)

Ashley, you’ll find most table service dining locations throughout the Walt Disney World Resort have decaf coffee available; if you don’t see it on the menu, be sure to ask your server. Quick service locations may be more variable, but those located at resorts should have basic drip decaf options.

You’ll find Starbucks locations in each of the four theme parks, and two locations in Disney Springs. You’ll have a huge variety of specialty drink options at Starbucks, and most espresso-based drinks can be made decaf. Standard decaf coffee is also available, and your baristas there can help you build the perfect beverage. I love an iced latte or Caramel Macchiato at Disney Starbucks, and both can be made decaf upon request. At Disney Springs, the Marketplace Starbucks location always has fun and unique specialty drink offerings (often themed to Disney characters), and a barista could help you ensure your choice is decaf.

Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea kiosks throughout the theme parks as well as outside select monorail and Disney Skyliner stations will also offer decaffeinated coffee options. Again, your best bet is talking to your barista about the current specialty beverages and what on the menu can be prepared decaf. Don’t miss their giant donuts – they are incredible!

It looks like you’ll be visiting during the Taste of EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, and I recommend checking to see what unique coffee drinks will be available at Festival kiosks, as well as at Joffrey’s locations. We don’t have menus yet, but keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog in early March for lots of news blooming about the festival.

Like a shooting star, we've come so far, and you are ready to make your vacation coffee wishes come true. From one coffee lover to another, I wish you a brew-tiful visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth, Ashley! Please "rub that lamp" and come back if you have any more questions - it's always a pleasure to help a fellow Guest plan and dream.

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
