Hi Cody! I just read your answer regarding adding the Lightning pass to my Magic Key pass. Does it ever sell out? I'm so scared I won't get it. I'll be traveling with family members with regular tickets, they all have the multi Lightning lane.

Hey there, Surficia! Welcome to planDisney!

Start your engine and grab your Minnie ears—you’ve come to the right place! It sounds like you're gearing up for an amazing visit with your family to the Disneyland Resort, and I’m thrilled to help you cross the planning finish line. Let’s talk Lightning Lane and get you ready to roll!

First of all, how exciting that your family’s tickets already include Lightning Lane Multi Pass—that’s such a fantastic way to zip through more attractions and make the most of a Disney day. And the great news? As a Magic Key holder, you can absolutely join in on the fun and purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass, too! Even better, all Magic Key passes come with a discount on this awesome upgrade. That’s a win worthy of Mickey himself!

Now, onto your main question: does Lightning Lane Multi Pass ever sell out? The short answer is: yes, it’s subject to availability, which may also be based on demand. But here’s some encouraging news: in all my visits to the Disneyland Resort—and trust me, there have been many (thanks, Magic Key!)—I’ve personally never had trouble purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass once I’ve entered the parks. While availability can’t be guaranteed, I hope that gives you some extra confidence as you plan.

To ensure your greatest chance of success, Surficia, I recommend arriving early. Guests are often allowed into the parks 30–45 minutes before the official opening time, and once you've scanned in with your Magic Key, you can purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass right from the Disneyland mobile app. Just tap the menu (☰) button, select "Lightning Lane Passes", and you’ll see your options—including Multi Pass—ready to go!

Here’s another way to level up your day: Some of the most popular attractions—like Indiana Jones Adventure and Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!—are often among the first to fill up with Lightning Lane return times. Once you’ve purchased your Multi Pass, I recommend grabbing those high-demand experiences first. Prioritizing these early can help you lock in more must-dos before return times run low later in the day. Whether you're dodging rolling boulders with Indy or blasting off with Rocket Raccoon, getting those prime-time slots early means more time for snacks, smiles, and surprises later on!

Oh, and one more magical trick before I let you go: be sure your family’s tickets are all linked in your app. That way, you can book Lightning Lane return times for everyone in your party at once! Just tap the menu (☰) button, select “My Tickets & Passes,” then tap the blue plus (+) sign in the top right corner to link your group’s tickets.

So there you have it, Surficia! With an early start and your Magic Key in hand, you’ll be ready to tap into the power of Lightning Lane and enjoy a day full of magical moments. Wishing you and your family a practically perfect visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!

    See ya real soon,
    Cody
