Hello, Joshua!
Welcome back to planDisney. It's a pleasure to once again offer support as you embark on another Disney Parks adventure. Looking over my notes, the last time we heard from you, you were heading toward The Happiest Place on Earth. Since then, it seems you have been about as obsessed as I am about Where Magic Meets the Sea on the Disney Cruise Line. Embarking on another Disney cruise as a Castaway Club member is one of the surest ways to guarantee a relaxing and unforgettable vacation experience.
I can appreciate the conundrum you're facing. On the one hand, it's incredibly challenging to resist the various collectible sipper cups, popcorn buckets, and refillable mugs available to Disney Cruise Line Guests. They seem to bring so much extra enjoyment to a Disney vacation. On the other hand, it makes sense to avoid waste or overflowing the limited space on our shelves of other collectibles. There's no rule against packing your souvenir sippers from a previous cruise. It's up to you. Though, I would suggest you might find your limited luggage space to be more useful for other things you might want, such as a boisterous buccaneer costume to wear on Pirate Night.
As far as refills go, that may depend on the specific souvenir item. Some refillable glasses or sippers allow for refills at the regular price as if purchased without the souvenir container. Other souvenir items may allow for a discount on refills during the same cruise. In cases like those, souvenir container designs are often updated from season to season, such as new colors, updated years, etc. And Guests may need to provide proof of purchase to be eligible for the discounted rate. Things like that are another reason I usually recommend saving the luggage space for other priorities.
If over time you happen to end up with more collectible souvenirs than you feel you can handle, there may be some options to consider. In my social circle at home and work, I happen to know quite a few Disney Parks fans who enjoy exchanging items collected during our Disney vacations. The special items that brought some extra joy to your Disney Cruise Line vacation may also bring a smile to someone looking for a special treasure at a secondhand thrift store who might appreciate your donation. Your stateroom host may also be able to find a new home for your extra souvenir items at the end of your cruise. In my case, I may just need to go ahead and put up yet another shelf to house our growing collection of mementos from our travels.
Whether it's in photos or items on a shelf, I'm grateful for the many memories we make during our Disney cruises. As you continue setting a course for adventure on your next cruise, I hope you'll drop anchor again here at planDisney to look for more advice and planning information to help make your vacation memories as magical as possible.
Have a marvelous cruise, Joshua!
